After the untimely passing of Anne Heche, the late actress’ grown son has made a plea to be given ownership of the inheritance she left behind.
Because Heche did not leave behind a will, Homer Laffoon submitted the necessary documents with the Los Angeles Superior Court on Wednesday to request that he be named administrator of her estate.
According to court documents obtained by Page Six, Homer, who is 20 years old, is requesting that the court name him “guardian ad litem” over his younger brother, Atlas, who is 13 years old. Homer submitted a motion to the court requesting that the bond requirement for Atlas, who is a minor, be waived.
Notably, Homer mentioned that the estimated worth of the “Six Days, Seven Nights” star’s estate is “unknown,” which is why a forensic accounting will need to be performed on it.
The subject will be discussed at a hearing that will take place on October 11th.
After crashing her automobile into a house in Los Angeles and sustaining catastrophic injuries a week earlier, Heche passed away on August 12 from her injuries. Even though she was brain dead, she was kept on life support until just before she passed away so that One Legacy could decide whether or not she was a suitable candidate for the organization. In the end, she gave up her organs for donation.

After her passing, the medical examiner-coroner for Los Angeles County classified sternal fracture due to blunt trauma as a contributing factor to Heche’s death, which was considered an accident. This was done after the coroner determined that Heche died of natural causes.
