Mexican actor Enrique Rocha died this Sunday at the age of 81, receiving the goodbye of many colleagues and fans after a fruitful career as a soap opera villain.

Renowned entertainment journalist Paty Chapoy mourned Rocha’s death.

The Ministry of Culture of Mexico also shared an image of Rocha on which he wrote a short profile.

“The Secretariat of Culture of Mexico City regrets the death of Mexican actor Enrique Rocha. Outstanding film, theater, television, and dubbing actor. Rest in peace,” the institution shared.

The renowned journalist Joaquín López-Dóriga also said goodbye to Rocha and shared some of the most important titles in which he participated.

“The beloved Enrique Rocha was born in Silao, Guanajuato. The first telenovela in which he participated was La Mentira, in 1965. His latest appearances include ‘Amores verdaderos’ and ‘Me declaro’,” he wrote on Twitter.

Mexican actor Enrique Rocha forged a broad career as a soap opera actor, and it was his thick, dark voice, as well as his mysterious personality, that made him time and again the most remembered and beloved villain on television.

He was a villain in soap operas such as “El privilegio de Amar” (1998-1999) or “Las vias del Amor” (2002-2003).

He was also a dubbing actor and many remembered him this Sunday for having voiced the emblematic character of Bagheera in the film “The Jungle Book ” made in 2016.
