The cast of “Only Murders in the Building” has been expanded to include Paul Rudd.

After appearing in the Season 2 finale episode titled “I Know Who Did It” as Broadway star Ben Glenroy, the actor will take on a starring role in the show’s upcoming third season. There is no information available to indicate whether Paul Rudd will feature as a series regular, recurring, or guest.

“After making a successful introduction into the world of our show at the end of Season 2 as Ben Glenroy, Paul Rudd is someone we want to know more about and see in our upcoming Season 3 — as he is a clear source of many upcoming questions and, as is always the case with our show, many twists yet to come!” John Hoffman, who is also a co-creator of the series, made this statement to Variety.

Charles (Steve Martin), Oliver (Martin Short), and Mabel (Selena Gomez) are three unlikely friends who live in the same building in New York City and bond over their love of true crime when they find themselves in the middle of a real-life murder mystery and begin a podcast of their own. The story of “Only Murders in the Building” follows Charles (Steve Martin), Oliver (Martin Short), and Mabel (Selena Gomez). In season 2, they are in a race against time to identify the person who murdered Arconia Board President Bunny Folger (Jayne Houdyshell). However, three unfortunate complications arise as a result of this: the trio is publicly implicated in the murder of Bunny, they are now the focus of a competing podcast, and they are forced to cope with a group of New York neighbors who are all convinced that they murdered someone. The third season was given the go-ahead in July.

Martin and Hoffman are responsible for the creation of the series together. In addition to Dan Fogelman, Jess Rosenthal, and Jamie Babbit, executive producers for the show are Martin, Hoffman, Short, and Gomez.

Rudd’s current part in “Only Murders in the Building” brings him back together with Selena Gomez, who he previously worked with in the film “The Fundamentals of Caring,” which was released on Netflix in 2016. ‘Clueless,’ ‘Wet Hot American Summer,’ ‘The 40-Year-Old Virgin,’ and ‘Marvel’s Ant-Man’ are just a few of the critically acclaimed films to which he has contributed.
