Handball: Amandine Leynaud joins the management of Les Bleues before Euro 2022

The former goalkeeper just called it quits.

The French Federation of Handball (FFHandball) announced on Monday that Amandine Leynaud, a former goalkeeper for the French handball team who recently retired, will be joining the management team of Les Bleues in preparation for the Euro 2022 tournament, which will take place from November 4 to November 20.

According to information provided in a news release by the FFHandball, “The young retiree will intervene with the goalkeepers to pass on all of her expertise and skills to them.”

World champion (2017), European champion (2018), and Olympic champion from Tokyo last year, Leynaud, 36, will begin her new mission at the next gathering of Les Bleues on September 25, to prepare for two friendly matches against Germany on September 30 in Metz and on October 2 in Nancy. Olivier Krumbholz, the head coach of Les Bleues, has called upon a group of twenty players for this event. Among those players are regulars, but Olympic winners Allison Pineau (33 years old) and Pauline Coatanéa have not been included (29 years old).
