Caicedo says Ecuador can win the World Cup.

“Ecuador is a candidate to win the World Cup” according to Caicedo

Moises Caicedo, a midfielder for Brighton, believes that Ecuador will have accomplished their goals at the World Cup in Qatar if they go to the semifinals.

According to midfielder Moises Caicedo, Ecuador could shock the world by winning the World Cup in Qatar, but they will consider their campaign a triumph if they make it to the semifinals.

After missing out on the chance to compete in Russia four years ago, Ecuador has finally qualified for its fourth World Cup, which will be held in Qatar. The midfielder for Brighton & Hove Albion scored goals in CONMEBOL’s qualification matches against both Uruguay and Chile, demonstrating his importance to the team.

“Of course, Ecuador is a candidate to win the World Cup,” Caicedo said in an interview with Star Plus. “We work together really well as a unit. We are going to fight right up until the very end. A run to the World Cup semifinals would be very satisfying for Ecuador. My teammates and I aim to make a positive impact on Ecuador’s reputation.

The only time Ecuador ever made it to the knockout round of the tournament was in 2006 when they competed in Germany and reached the round of 16. At that point, they were eliminated by England in the round of 16.

Although they were in fourth place in South American qualifying behind Brazil, Argentina, and Uruguay, Ecuador is going into the tournament in Qatar with a lot of self-assurance. “We needed to believe it. We are a team comprised of exceptionally talented young athletes. Simply having a stronger belief in ourselves was all that was required. Caicedo stated that there is a great deal of talent in Ecuador.
