Petti is suspended for two months for Bordeaux-Bègles in the top 14

Top 14: Bordeaux-Bègles loses Petti for two months

On Saturday, when playing for Argentina against South Africa in the Rugby Championship, the Argentinian suffered an injury to his right knee and will be sidelined for the next two months.

It was announced on Tuesday by Guido Petti’s manager Christophe Urios that the Argentinian international second line who plays for Bordeaux-Bègles will be out of action for the next two months due to a knee injury he sustained on Saturday during the Rugby Championship when he was selected to play for Bordeaux-Bègles against South Africa.

Petti, who flew back to France on Tuesday morning, is experiencing what the doctors are calling “a severe impact on the cartilage” (of the knee). There is no issue with the crosses, but he will have to take some additional exams either today (Tuesday) or tomorrow (Wednesday). However, we will continue our absence for another two months,” Urios elucidated.

The Argentinean international, who is 27 years old and has 71 caps, had had an injury to the same knee at the beginning of the year (damaged meniscus), and he had been out of action for four months as a result.

In addition, the Congolese winger Madosh Tambwe, who scored a brace against Toulouse on the opening day of the Top 14 but was forced to use a crutch in Montpellier the following weekend, will return to collective training in one week. On Saturday, the Stade Francais cannot have him as a guest because he has been disqualified.
