The rich underside of the stairs
In the house, the main providers of available space are the stairs. The space left under a staircase can easily accommodate shelves or a custom-made cupboard.
Do-it-yourselfers will soon have installed simple shelves attached to the wall. A few wooden planks cut to the right measurements, screws and cleats, and voila!
Obviously, invisible or rack mountings work just as well. It is also possible to accommodate boxes, drawers and prefabricated shelves offered by DIY stores.

Make the volume of parts profitable
In the house, it is necessary to make profitable the available volume. In general, the height is not used enough: when space is lacking, the entire height of the room can be used.
